It actually installed and is compatible with the device but it didn't solve my problem. I guess my diagnostic was wrong. I have a feeling my WI-FI card is bad, but im not sure cause my laptop recognizes the device in device manager but when i go to adapter settings under network and connections it shows disabled and when I try to enable the device it shows enabled but doesnt really enable. HELP!

Hi
Well it would be either a
Broadcom 4312MCG Wireless mini PCI 802.11B/G WiFi Adapter (Barolo) - For use in Rest of World (ROW1)
Broadcom 4322AGN 802.11a/b/g/draft-n WiFi Adapter (Sangria) - For use in Rest of World (ROW)
OR
Intel Wi-Fi Link 5100 802.11a/b/g WLAN module - For use in all countries and regions
Otherwise I would expect there to be a
Wireless Button Driver

BUT your PC probably has it controlled via software.........
(4) Info button Launches Info Center, which provides shortcuts, such as the
following:
● HP 3D DriveGuard—Controls settings for software that
protects the hard drive by parking the drive when the
computer is dropped or moved.
● HP Software Setup—Installs pre-loaded programs to
make them accessible to the user.
● HP Wireless Assistant—Turns wireless devices on or
off.
NOTE: If a wireless device is disabled in Computer
Setup, it must first be re-enabled in Computer Setup
before it can be turned on or off using Wireless Assistant
