Microsoft Windows 11

I recently upgraded my laptop's Wi-Fi card from the Realtek RTL8821CE that it came with. To an Intel AX200 that I got from Newegg. Other than my laptop only has one antenna wire to connect to the new card which has two connection ports. The installation went fine. I've tested the connection speed using the default speed test provided by Google when you search "Speed Test" and I'm quite happy with the results! The issue that I'm having is with the Bluetooth. For the life of me I cannot to get it to work correctly. Take my Logitec MX Master 3 mouse. When I run the Logitec software to pair the app says that it's connected but the connection turns on and off to the point where my mouse can't be used. I've had to plug in the dongle that came with it. I've tried connecting my Note 20 Ultra without any success. To fix this I downloaded Intel's Driver and Support Assistant application. The app scanned my laptop and came back with two updates that I needed. I installed both, but the problem persists. I'm now at the point where I don't know what to do. I've attached a couple screenshots showing various bits of information that I think might be necessary in diagnosing the problem. If there is anything else needed, please feel free to ask and I will get it posted ASAP! If you've read this far, I thank you!

You're very welcome.

The Realtek 1 x 1 card you removed was designed for both the Wi-Fi and Bluetooth to work with one antenna wire.

No Intel card is designed for both the Wi-Fi and Bluetooth to work with one antenna.

Replacing the antenna:

To do the job right, you will need to completely disassemble the notebook including the display panel to properly route the antenna wire and transceiver.

Chapter 3, page 22, of the service manual has the part numbers for the antenna kits.

You probably need to order the dual kit because I doubt the antenna wires are exactly the same length.

If you want to jury rig something without ordering the correct antenna kit and not wanting to take the display apart in the hope the Bluetooth will get reception, you can order any M.2 Wi-Fi antenna and just make sure that no metal parts on the antenna wire are touching any metal on the motherboard.

A kit like this should work fine.

@MMZ_Thumper

You upgraded it and I don't think HP could look at your problem. Please download BT deiver (2nd item) on the following link and install to your machine

Hi, @MMZ_Thumper

You need two antenna wires connected for the Bluetooth to work.

The Auxiliary antenna terminal on the wifi card provides Bluetooth reception.

Without a second antenna wire, the isn't enough signal strength for the Bluetooth to connect to anything.

Hey BH!

Sorry it's taken me so long to reply. During my work week I have no time for anything outside of work and family and everything else must wait for the weekend. I apologize for that. I really appreciate you taking the time to read my issue and offering to help me! Thank You!

So, I downloaded that file you suggested and after running it, I got a popup asking if I wanted to upgrade from 22.150.0.6 to 22.150.0.6 ??????(see attached image) The version number was the same as the one I had installed. I went ahead and clicked on yes. The next screen had three options. Change, Repair and Remove. (see attached image) First, I tried repairing but my problem was still there. I tried connecting my MX Master 3 but it just kept saying, 'Please try connecting your device again"(see attached image) So then I got the idea of just removing everything, so I went into Device Manager, R-Clicked the Intel Bluetooth driver and uninstalled it. I then restarted and upon my laptop booting back up I ran the app you suggested I download. The installation went fine. But when I tried connecting my mouse again it still wouldn't work. I checked Device Manager and Bluetooth looked "normal" (See attached image) I've attached screenshots to help show what I'm talking about. I don't know what else to do. If you have any other suggestions, please let me know.

I thought that might be the issue but the card I replaced didn't have an Aux antenna cable and Bluetooth worked fine so I dismissed it. What search term do i even use to find the antenna cable that I need? "Auxiliary antenna cable replacement"? Are the plugs universally the same size?

I really appreciate you jumping on here and making this suggestion. I tried the other fix, but it didn't work. Getting the antenna cable isn't going to hurt anything! I just hope I can find what I need!  🤞

The Service and repair Manual even says to remove both antenna cables! So why doesn't mine have two? It seems that this "upgrade" isn't going to be as easy as I thought it would be. I just spent my morning tearing down an older Acer laptop thinking I'd be able to use the antenna cable from it but wouldn't you know? It uses the larger size connector!!! I searched Google, Amazon, Newegg, and Ebay till almost 3AM this morning trying to find the correct antenna! I found a couple but I'm still not sure if they are the correct ones. Since you were kind enough to provide a link to one, I'll stick with it. I did look through the manual for the part number for the original, but I wasn't able to find it. All i found was the four replacement cards. Speaking of those. Is there a Wi-Fi 6 card out there that has the Wi-Fi and Bluetooth on the same antenna? You said Intel doesn't make any but I'm sure someone else does! Routing the cable through the display is something I'm sure I can do. it just won't be a very pleasant experience! So yeah! I guess I need to make a decision on what to do here. Again, THANK YOU so much for all your help! I REALLY appreciate it!!!!!!!

Anytime.

Glad to have been of assistance.

The only dual band Wi-Fi card where both the Wi-Fi and Bluetooth works with a single antenna is the one you removed--the RTL8821CE.

All AX Wi-Fi cards (Realtek, Mediatek) that I know of use two wires.

The correct HP dual antenna kit you need is on backorder, and it costs $50 for a pair of $5 antenna wires.

HP Parts Store - HP Computer Parts - HP Printer Parts - Compaq Parts

The Realtek RTL8822BE which was also a card that could have come in the model series requires two antenna wires, so that is probably why the manual indicates that you have to remove 2 wires.

If your notebook had come with that card instead, it would have had two antenna wires, and you would not be in your current dilemma.
