No option or ability to connect to the Wi-Fi, I'm under my network adapters, FYI. I specifically updated drivers for the Realtek... and still no luck.  There's nothing to the effect of Wi-Fi settings under my Network & Internet settings No wifi option.pngNo Wi-Fi settings.png

Hi @JB852,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

Thank you for sharing the screenshots; they tell us a lot:

  • Image 1 & 2: The quick settings panel and Network & Internet settings show no Wi-Fi option, only Ethernet and Airplane mode.
  • Image 3: Device Manager shows Realtek PCIe GbE Family Controller (Ethernet) and several WAN Miniports, but no wireless adapter (e.g., Realtek RTL8821CE or Intel Wi-Fi).

This means Windows is not detecting any Wi-Fi hardware, which is why you can’t see Wi-Fi settings.

Why this happens

  • The wireless card might be disabled in BIOS, missing drivers, or hardware failure.
  • Updating Realtek Ethernet drivers won’t help because Wi-Fi uses a different adapter.

Steps to Fix

1. Check BIOS Wireless Setting

  • Restart → Press EscF10 (BIOS Setup).
  • Under System Configuration, ensure Wireless LAN is Enabled.
  • Save and exit.

2. Verify Wireless Adapter in Device Manager

  • If it’s missing:
    • Shut down → Disconnect power → Hold Power button for 15 sec.
    • Restart and check again.
  • If still missing, the card may be loose or faulty.

3. Install the Correct Wi-Fi Driver

4. Run HP Hardware Diagnostics

  • Press EscF2 → Component Tests → Wireless Module Test.
  • If it fails, the wireless card needs service.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
