HP EliteBook 2540p Product No. XT934UA#ABA
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

I had to reformat and re-install Windows 7.  It works ok but my drivers are gone and I can't connect to the internet on that computer.  HP driver support says there are no drivers for that model.  Where do I find the driver I need to connect to the internet? It is an HP EliteBook 2540p.

Hi:

Below is the link to the ethernet driver you need for your notebook.

This package contains the driver installation package for the Intel 82577LM or 82577LC Gigabit Ethernet Controller in supported notebook models that are running a supported operating system.

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp53501-54000/sp53806.exe

Below is the link to the wifi driver you need...

This package contains drivers required to enable functionality of the Intel Wireless LAN adapter on supported notebooks with supported operating systems.

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp58501-59000/sp58782.exe

You must be using a PC with W10 on it to find the drivers.

You get that message because the support pages detect what OS you are using and defaults you to the drivers for that OS.

Since there are no W10 drivers for your notebook, you get that message.

So what you do is...

Just above and to the left of that no drivers message is a link to change the operating system.

Click on that, and a window will open.  On the left side select Windows from the drop down.

On the right side, select W7 64 bit from the right side drop down.
