The internet on my year old HP Pavillion running Windows 10 home will no longer connect. On startup, I get the following message: "Intel WiDi was removed from your PC because it doesn't work on this version of windows." I have version 10.0.14393 Build 14393. I can't even connect using a cable. Suggestions would be very much appreciated.

Check if you are able to go online. After the release & renew you should be able to go onine. If not then try winsock reset.
When you do the winsock command, the cmd should be on admin mode.
netsh winsock reset

Thank you for replying Emmanuel. I apologize that I am a novice. If CMD in Admin means computer management under Windows Administrative Tools, I don't see a command prompt. Am I in the wrong place? Thank you so much for trying to help me.

You can click on the start button then type cmd
Click on it. You will get a black box.
Type in the black box ipconfig
then hit enter
post the reply here..
Best of luck 🙂

Tried to do a power cycle first.
Then do these commands in cmd (Admin)
ipconfig /release
ipconfig /renew
If the above commands doesn't work, then try the below command and restart the computer
netshwinsock reset
Best of Luck 🙂

The first two say no operation can be performed on Ethernet 2 (and local area connection 2 and Bluetooth network connection) while it has it's media disconnected
netshwinsock reset says says netshwinsock is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file.
Sorry
