Elitebook 840 G2
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello and good afternoon

I recently bought a used EliteBook 840 g2, but there is no rj-45 connector for a network cable, just a narrow connector into which the normal plug of a network cable does not fit. Do I need an adapter? What is that narrow network connection? Shouldn't rj-45 be standard ??

Thanks and best regards

Cybermans

Hi:

The user guide chapter 2, page 5, item #5 shows a RJ-45 ethernet port on the right side of the notebook.

I have a 255 G7 notebook with the same type thing.  I have to lift up the plastic cover that partially blocks the port.

I have no idea why they do that but see if your notebook has the same type of thing.

Hi Paul,

Thank you for your quick response. I didn't know the cover was going to fold. HP probably did it because of the design.
Happy Easter to you!
Best regards
