Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

No WIFI option available on coming back from sleep (or hibernate) nor any drivers are shown in device manager. It shows red cross only. Please help.

I understand the Wifi feature is not working on the Notebook. Kindly perform the steps mentioned in this document to resolve this issue - Wireless Network and Internet Troubleshooting

 

Install updates using HP Support Assistant

  1. In the search box, type and open HP Support Assistant. 
  2. Check for updates. 
  3. If the updates are available, click on install and restart the computer.  

Note: If you do not have HP Support Assistant installed, Click here to download the same.

 

If the issue persists, let us run a test on the hardware components of the PC

  1. Hold the power button for at least five seconds to turn off the computer.
  2. Turn on the computer and immediately press Esc repeatedly, about once every second. When the menu appears, press the F2 key.
  3. Perform Component Test > Network. Share the result in your next post.

Thanks for the help but as you instructed, I tried performing component test of wireless module but it shows Not Installed. Please help.

This seems like a hardware issue. Please reach out to the HP Technical Support team in your region regarding the service options for your Notebook. 

You may create a case on the website to obtain a case number if required. Kindly watch this video to know how.
