Hi my HP laptop product number is 5PC90PA#ACJ

For some reason 5ghz WiFi networks are not showing up and I know that it is not a problem with the network because I am connecting to it on my other devices.

Does my model come with a WiFi chip that has the ability to connect to a 5ghz wifi? If it does what can possibly be the problem why it won’t show any 5ghz WiFi networks and what can I do to fix it?? The WiFi chip model is Realtek RTL8723DE 802.11b/g/n PCIe Adaptor. The driver version is 2024.0.10.213.

I hope I gave you enough info to answer the question.

Thanks in advance.

That adapter ONLY supports 2.4GHz networks. Your machine only has a single antenna, you can use the following adapters for your machine

  • Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 9461 802.11 AC 1×1 WiFi + BT5 Combo Adapter (non-vPro) (MU-MIMO supported)
  • Realtek RTL8821CE 802.11 ac 1×1 WiFi + Bluetooth 4.2 Combo Adapter (MU-MIMO supported)

Regards.
