Hi, I have a HP laptop, product number is 4TT06PA
For some reason 5ghz WiFi networks are not showing up and I know that it is not a problem with the network because I am connecting to it on my other devices.
Does my model come with a WiFi chip that has the ability to connect to a 5ghz wifi? If it does what can possibly be the problem, why it won’t show any 5ghz WiFi networks and what can I do to fix it?? WiFi connectivity is through Realtek RTL8723DE 802.11b/g/n PCIe Adapter. The driver version is 2024.0.10.209
I hope I gave you enough info to answer the question.
Thanks in advance.

Hi, @debdeeps
The RTL8723DE 802.11b/g/n PCIe Adapter is a single band (2.4 GHz only) wifi adapter, which is why your notebook can't find any 5.0 GHz networks.
Since your notebook only has one antenna cable present and connected to the Realtek wifi card, there is only one internal dual band wifi card you can install in your notebook where both the wifi and bluetooth will work with one antenna cable.
Realtek RTL8821CE 802.11 ac 1x1 WiFi + Bluetooth 4.2 Combo Adapter (MU-MIMO supported) HP part # L17365-005.
The only place I have been able to find this model is on eBay.

The card has the same throughput as the RTL8723DE on the 2.4 GHz wifi band, but on the 5.0 GHz wifi band with an AC router, it has a maximum throughput of 433 MBPS.
On a dual band wireless N router, it would have a maximum throughput of 150 MBPS on the 5.0 GHz wifi band.

Hi
Please delete the serial number.

is what you have, and possibly the Intel would work, BUT it may not be compatible with your region.
An alternative is a Wi-Fi dongle. Much like these...
