I was just bullied by Brightspeed to switch to fiber.  They are doing away will all copper, so no more DSL.  I signed up for 300Mbps, yet when I do a speed test I am only getting 160 -190mbps.  The so called tech they sent out said my computer was "outdated", and I should not be using firefox because it was an "android and old fashioned" browser.  My network adapter is capable of 466mbps, so why am I not getting the full amount of 300?  I live in a small 900 sq. ft. cottage, so distance is not an issue.

Are you talking about wifi ? Let me tell you one example: racing cars can do over 300kmh on racing tracks but not your bicycle . The wifi adapter on your machine is not good enough

Regards.

No, that's not it.  My adapter can accept up to 466mbps.  The fiber is horrible and has other issues, like now my phone no longer works, and it was a brand new one.  Something wrong with the fiber hookup, and of course the answer i got from them was the same.  It's your equipment, not our horrible service.
