My wifi on my new OmniBook5 on windows 11 keeps disconnecting and is very slow. My issue is similar to this one mentioned in this thread (https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Wireless-and-Networking/i-have-a-hp-omnibook-5-laptop-amp-it-...) HOWEVER, the fix mentioned cannot be implemented on my side. I don't see these energy options on my wifi adapter! I tried: uninstalling and reinstalled the wifi adapter, updated my system, updated the wifi adapter

Nothing worked. Please help

Hi @mannyob5,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I’m sorry you’re going through this; I understand the concern and don’t worry I’ll help you with this.

To help me understand the situation better, could you please share a bit more information?

 Please let me know:

• Since when are you facing this issue?

• Have you made any software or Hardware changes in the PC?

• Is there any physical damage caused to the PC?

• When you enable Wi-Fi do you see the list of networks available?

• Does a different device like your mobile phone, other laptop etc connect to the Wi-Fi connection?

• Can you try connecting the unit to a different network and test?

• Does a different connection work fine with the unit?

Kindly follow the below troubleshooting steps :

1. Let's uninstall and reinstall network driver and test: In Windows, search for and open the Device Manager > Look for "network adapters" > Right click and click on uninstall > uninstall the driver and restart the unit and check if the Wi-Fi starts working. (Note: Select appropriate network driver)

2. Let's update the network driver and test: Click on the link  { https://support.hp.com/in-en/drivers/laptops  } look for the Driver Network & download the latest file and run the same.

3. Let's fix network through HP Support assistant: Search for HP Support assistant > Click on Fixes & diagnostics > Click on "fix your network" and click on run.

4. Network reset: In Windows 11, go to Settings → Network & Internet → Advanced network settings → Network reset. This reinstalls all network adapters and resets settings.

5. Power management settings: Even if you don’t see the “Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power” option, check under Device Manager → Network Adapter → Properties → Advanced tab. Look for settings like “Power Saving Mode” or “Roaming Aggressiveness.”

6. WIFI adapter UEFI test : Completely shut down the unit, now power on the unit, right after pressing the power button keep on tapping F2 key, this will take you to diagnostics screen > component test > network > Wireless > Quick test > Run once. Share an image of the results once done.

I hope this helps.

I'm glad I could help! 😊 If this resolved your issue, please mark it as "Accepted Solution" and click "Yes" on "Was this reply helpful?" Your feedback not only keeps us going but also helps others find the solution faster!

Take care and have an amazing day ahead!

Best regards,
