Hi @nohomemaker,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP ENVY Photo 7855 printer is stuck in offline mode and not printing, and you're unable to reinstall it, there are a few troubleshooting steps you can try.
- Check Printer Connection: Ensure that the printer is properly connected to your computer or network. If it's a USB connection, try using a different USB port or cable. If it's a wireless connection, ensure that the printer is connected to the same network as your computer.
- Restart Printer and Computer: Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve connectivity issues. Turn off both your printer and computer, wait for a few minutes, and then turn them back on.
- Update Printer Drivers: Outdated or corrupted printer drivers can cause communication problems between the printer and your computer. Visit the HP website to download and install the latest drivers for your HP ENVY Photo 7855 printer.
- Check Printer Status: On your computer, go to the Control Panel or System Preferences, depending on your operating system, and then open the Devices and Printers (Windows) or Printers & Scanners (Mac) section. Check if your printer is listed and set as the default printer. If it's listed as offline, try setting it online.
- Restart Print Spooler Service (Windows): Sometimes restarting the Print Spooler service can resolve printing issues on Windows. To do this, open the Run dialog (Windows key + R), type "services.msc", and press Enter. In the Services window, find "Print Spooler", right-click on it, and select "Restart".
- Reset Printer: Refer to your printer's manual to find instructions on how to perform a factory reset. This can often resolve various issues, but be aware that it will reset all settings to their default values.
By following these steps, you should hopefully be able to resolve the issue with your HP ENVY Photo 7855 printer being stuck in offline mode and not printing.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
