Hi @CJB76 ,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand your HP OfficeJet Pro 8025e All-in-One Printer won't scan or be found in the HP app, follow these troubleshooting steps to resolve the issue:
1. Check Printer Connectivity
Ensure the printer is properly connected to your network:
- Wi-Fi Connection: Verify that the printer is connected to your Wi-Fi network. Print a network configuration page to check the connection status.
- Ethernet Connection: Ensure the Ethernet cable is securely connected to both the printer and the router.
2. Restart Devices
- Printer: Turn off the printer, wait for 60 seconds, and turn it back on.
- Router: Restart your router to refresh the network connection.
- Computer/Smartphone: Restart the device you are using to scan.
3. Update Firmware and Software
- Printer Firmware: Check for and install any available firmware updates for your printer.- Update the firmware on an HP printer
- HP Smart App: Ensure you have the latest version of the HP Smart app installed on your device.
4. Verify Network Settings
- Ensure the printer and the device running the HP Smart app are on the same Wi-Fi network.
- Disable any VPNs or firewalls temporarily to see if they are blocking the connection.
5. Reinstall HP Smart App
- Uninstall the HP Smart app from your device.
- Restart your device.
- Reinstall the HP Smart app from the official app store.
6. Add Printer Manually in HP Smart App
- Open the HP Smart app.
- Click on the “+” or “Add Printer” option.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to add your printer manually.
7. Run HP Print and Scan Doctor (Windows Only)
- Download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor tool to automatically diagnose and resolve printer issues.
8. Check Printer Settings
- Wi-Fi Direct: If your network connection is unstable, use Wi-Fi Direct to connect directly to the printer without a router.
- IP Address: Ensure the printer's IP address hasn't changed. If it has, update the printer settings in the HP Smart app.
9. Reset Network Settings on Printer
- On the printer control panel, go to Settings > Network Settings > Restore Network Settings.
- Reconnect the printer to your Wi-Fi network.
Refer to this document: HP OfficeJet Pro 8025e All-in-One Printer User manual
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
