HP Laptop 17
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

My wifi signal strength suddenly dropped to only one or two bars, although this is not reflected by other devices. Performance does not seem to be affected although I usually lose connection at least once each day, troubleshooting this solves the problem by 'resetting wifi2 adapter', The situation recently deteriorated and over a period of two days I could not detect any wifi networks at all (again other devices were not affected) before connection returned without any intervention on my part.

Is this something I can address? is a usb wifi receiver an option?

If nothing has been done to the laptop, IE opening the case for other work, then the simplest is to try a USB adapter.    Get a relatively inexpensive USB adapter to save the tech shop visit. That should bypass the present WiFi device and give you WiFi again.
