Whenever I play music on my laptop through my  Bluetooth headphones it slows down my WiFi speeds to less than a tenth of the normal speed (12 Mbps normal ;  0.9  Mbps when playing music).  As soon as I pause the track and measure the speed again, it is back up to normal.  It happens when playing music in Cantata (Linux app similar to Media Player in Windows),  streaming programs on BBC iPlayer and playing videos on YouTube)
 
Found out the following:
1) Kubuntu (the Linux operating system) reports under PCI devices : 
         Realtek Semiconducter Co., Ltd RTL8723BE PCIe Wireless Network Adapter.
2) Kubuntu version is 18.04 64-bit (Kernel 5.4.0-47-generic).
3) Problem ONLY occurs when playing the media.  If the headphone is connected, but I've paused the track, the speed goes back to normal.
4) When I connect the headphones to my Android tablet and play media the problem does not occur - the Wifi speed is not affected.
5) I've tried changing the WiFi channel setting on my router from 'auto'.  Tried channel 1, 6 and 11 and none of these settings made any difference.
6) Would have tried changing WiFi mode from 2.4 GHz to 5GHz,  but I found out that my router does not support it so I was not able to try that.
 
Because there is no problem on my Android tablet I'm thinking it's probably not signal interference between Bluetooth and WiFi.
 
Could it be the device driver?   Is the Lan card faulty?   Is it something else?
 
Any ideas please?
