HP ENVY 5530 e-All-in-One Printer

There has been some sort of compromise. couldn't do on line banking so I had to take the computer to repair and have it verified as clean ,no virus, Went to bank and the bank account was closed so starting over. Again it wouldn't print and again I had it checked out, at a cost of $130.+ each time. When I turn on the computer, it's telling me it's off line and I have taken the black power cord and the yellow printer cord with me. I am not a professional, but  I pugged the yellow cord from the 

computer and into the modem  I will wait to hear if that was correck.  Thank You

Check Printer Connection:

  • Make sure the yellow printer cord is securely connected to both the printer and your computer.
  • Ensure that the printer is powered on.

Verify Network Connection:

  • Check the Wi-Fi or Ethernet connection on your computer to ensure it's properly connected.
  • Make sure your modem/router is working correctly and that other devices can connect to the internet.

Printer Status:

  • On the printer's control panel, check if there are any error messages or warnings.
  • Verify that the printer is not in offline mode. You can do this by going to the "Devices and Printers" section on your computer, right-clicking on your printer, and ensuring it's set to "Use Printer Online."

Reinstall Printer Drivers:

  • Uninstall the printer software from your computer.
  • Download the latest drivers from the official HP website and reinstall them.

Check for Software Conflicts:

  • Ensure that there are no conflicting software or third-party security programs that might be blocking the printer's connection.

Update Computer Software:

  • Make sure your computer's operating system and printer drivers are up to date.

Power Cycle:

  • Turn off both your computer and printer.
  • Unplug the power cords from both the computer and the printer.
  • Wait for about 30 seconds, then reconnect the power cords and turn both devices back on.

 

Regarding the yellow cord you mentioned, it's typically the Ethernet cable responsible for connecting your computer to the internet. However, the connection between your computer and printer is usually established through a USB or wireless connection, not with the yellow cord.
