I was trying Windscribe VPN as per Computeractive at the time internet went down. My steps to get it back were:
1. Delete Windscribe.
2. Re-start router (pointless as all other devices online).
3. Restart adaptor as per MS advice.
4. Remove drivers and let Win11 re-input them after re-start.
5. Follow advice given on internet, which meant four or five steps to 'flush DNS' server.
6. Following tech examination by son-in-law school technician, use brute force by buying dongle and using that. Now dongle indicates net signal present but pc and browsers report still no internet. Also searched for non-existent net button  in case switched off!
7. Use ethernet cable direct to router using Inatech USB to Ethernet convertor. Failed miserably. Control panel indicates connection working but PC reports no internet and browsers report same.
