RTL8821CE Slow Speed and Poor SIgnal - Looking for Intel Replacement
08-24-2020 02:50 PM

Just recently purchased a HP 15s-fq1002na which comes with a Realtek RTL8821CE 802.11b/g/n/ac (1x1) and Bluetooth® 4.2 Combo but have found the signal strength and speed to be poor despite been a few feet away from the router.
I have seen there are alot of posts with the same/similar issues and wondered if there is an Intel option for this laptop model as I believe they require 2 antenna when I assume this laptop has 1 antenna as it has a RTL8821CE.
The RTL8821CE is on the latest driver but the issue is still the same so if some can recommend an alternative wifi card it would be appreciated.

Is this the correct guide as I see no listing for 15s-fq models?
Also page 2 list the following models:
Realtek RTL8822CE 802.11ac 2 × 2 Wi-Fi + Bluetooth® 5.0 (MU-MIMO supported)
Realtek RTL8821CE 802.11ac 1 × 1 Wi-Fi + Bluetooth 4.2 (MU-MIMO supported)
Realtek RTL8723DE 802.11bgn 1 × 1 Wi-Fi + Bluetooth 4.2
but page 32 also lists Intel Wi-Fi 6 AX200 802.11ax 2 × 2 Wi-Fi + Bluetooth 5.0 .
Is the Intel one compatible?
Thank you for your help thus far I just want to check this aswell to make sure I get the right one.
