edited  I use an old Dell HP pavilion and was stuck in Airplane Mode with the greyed out selection option to turn it off in setting. I found the F2 key on this thing or the WIFI button with picture of tower putting out a signal, pressed it and the airplane, wifi, Bluetooth options popped up in lower left and with one click was back online. Too easy, I know, but that is what happened to me.
