Hi:

It depends on what model notebook you have.

Some notebooks with the RTL8188EE have the old style HMC form factor cards and the newer models have the M.2 form factor.

The Realtek RTL8821CE 802.11 ac 1x1 Wi-Fi + Bluetooth 4.2 Combo Adapter (MU-MIMO supported) HP part # L17365-005, is a M.2 form factor card.

If you let me know the full model number or product number of your notebook, I will be able to let you know if the RTL8821CE will work in your notebook too.

Yes, the above model Wi-Fi card will work just fine in your notebook.

Below is the link to the service manual, where you can find the Wi-Fi card removal and replacement procedure.

thank the rlt8821ce works in laptop. while it is much better than rlt8188ce i am getting 58 mbs download and 48 mbs upload ,the card is rated much faster . On link speed it still shows 72/72 mbs any way to increase that so i can get full use of the card?

You're very welcome.

The max throughput on the RTL8821CE wifi card is 72 MBPS on the 2.4 GHz wifi band and up to 433 MBPS on the 5.0 GHz wifi band with an AC router.  With an N router, the max on the 5.0 GHz band would be 150 MBPS.

So, you are right...72 MBPS on the 5.0 GHz band is not good.

The card should work correctly without having to change any of the advanced settings for the adapter in the device manager.

Have you installed the latest Wi-Fi driver for the card?

One person said that you have to broadcast the router's SSID, or you won't get the faster speeds.

I don't know about that because my routers are set to broadcast the SSID since I use WPA2 security.

Other than making sure that you have the latest Wi-Fi driver installed, unfortunately, I don't know what else you can do.
