Hi:

Below is the link to the product specs for your notebook.

https://support.hp.com/ca-en/document/c04797015

It does not have dual band wifi capability.  Single band (2.4 GHz) only.

Anytime you see a wireless N network spec with a suffix that ends in b/g/n, that means it is a single band wifi adapter.

Dual band wifi N adapters have suffixes that end in a/b/g/n or a/g/n.

Could I buy a wifi card that does 5ghz and install it?????

You'd have to first open up the PC and let me know how many antenna cables are connected to the Realtek 8188EE wifi card in there now.

I believe there is only one antenna cable connected, and all but one dual band wifi cards need to have two.

If your notebook only one antenna connected to the wifi card, then this is the only model that has any possibility of working correctly.   And I can't guarantee 100% that it will.

Realtek RTL8821CE 802.11 ac 1x1 WiFi + Bluetooth 4.2 Combo Adapter (MU-MIMO supported)    HP Part # L17365-005

The only place I have been able to find that card for sale is on eBay.   Do your search by the part number, not the model of the wifi card.
