1) Pavillion Gaming Laptop

3) Error messages.  Airplane mode will toggle, but error message in settings menu indicating "no wireless devices detected on this laptop".  Additionally, in HP Support Assistant the Network Adpator troubleshoot reports "unknown error" when I launch the troubleshooter.
4) Yes, I've downloaded and  installed windows updates & other driver updates (through this site). 

Essentially, the laptop does not recognize the bluetooth or wifi devices.  I've tried downloading driver updates. Did so on bluetooth; wifi download failed.
