I have been struggling to find a fix for my wi-fi ever since Windows Creator's Update came along. My wi-fi had been working without issue before the update. I was sent an updated driver package from Windows through Windows update (see above driver version in subject line). My ethernet works fine but my wi-fi will not stay connected. Just yesterday support assistant sent me urgent update notice of this same driver for wi-fi. I uninstalled old one and deleted it and took the driver from HP and restarted. The driver still doesn't function and under events I see: Device PCI\VEN_10EC&DEV_B723&SUBSYS_2231103C&REV_00\4&b4793e4&0&0020 requires further installation. This is aggravating and I don't know what to do to fix the problem. I have tried the frequently suggested troubleshooter and NetSh Admin commands and the wi-fi connection won't hold. Please help!

Hi:

The only suggestion I can offer would be to update to the latest driver for that model wifi card, directly from Realtek.

This is a giant file package and I don't know what I need to do or what files I need for driver

HP Recommended

Download and save the zip file.

Right click on the zip file, and select Extract All (which is located near the top of the list).

After the file is extracted into its driver folder, open the folder (you have to open two folders), and then double click on the Setup application file to install the driver.

I tried following those instructions and something went wrong. I am a complete novice to these operations of downloading and unpacking files

I have written the instructions as plainly as I could, so unfortunately, I won't be able to help you any further than I have.

See if a friend or relative can update the driver for you using the instructions I have provided.

I found the setup file however it does not contain the new driver. It says it does but it just reinstalls the driver which is giving me fits.

I used this link provided by a forum helper http://www.realtek.com.tw/DOWNLOADS/downloadsView.aspx?Langid=1&PNid=21&PFid=62&Level=5&Conn=4&DownT.... I extracted all of the zip file and followed instructions after struggling a bit to find the setup file. The new driver I was expecting to see did not install. I don't know if I did something wrong or if this file does not contain the driver.

Same here

The link doesn’t contain a new driver
