Operating System: Microsoft Windows 11

I have a laptop from 2021.  I cannot get it to choose the 5 Ghz option over the 2.4.  The settings say to choose it.  I found another post with the same problem but the poster says he has installed thee latest drivers and then he says the problem is fixed with new drivers.  Huh?  Completely unhelpful.  I have the latest drivers installed.  What can I do?  Very frustrating as my other devices are getting 500 Mb/s and this laptop gets 30.  Thanks.
