WIFI card: Realtek RTL8723BE

Hi there.

I would like to replace my wifi card to a dual band card because i have a dual band router. Two questions:

1.  Can I add a second antennae ?

2. Which card is supported by my laptop system or mother board etc. ?

If someone could help me PLEASE

Thanks

Hi, @rubensusanto

The Intel wifi card requires two antenna cables for both the wifi and bluetooth to work, and yours only has one.

If you want both the wifi and bluetooth to work, you can only upgrade to this model wifi card...

Realtek RTL8821CE 802.11 ac 1x1 WiFi + Bluetooth 4.2 Combo Adapter (MU-MIMO supported) HP part # L17365-005.

The only place I have been able to find this model is on eBay.

https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_nkw=L17365-005&_sacat=0&_sop=15

The card has the same throughput as the RTL8723BE on the 2.4 GHz wifi band, but on the 5.0 GHz wifi band with an AC router, it has a maximum throughput of 433 MBPS.
