Hello,

I would like to upgrade my network card, the Realtek RTL8723BE,  to an alternative that works with my laptop and supports 5GHz wi-fi because i recently upgraded my router and my connections and i want to utilize my network's maximum potential. Is there such a card which my laptop can support?

Thank you in advance,

George

Hi, George:

You can do a direct upgrade to this model wifi card in your notebook...

Realtek RTL8821CE 802.11 ac 1x1 WiFi + Bluetooth 4.2 Combo Adapter (MU-MIMO supported)     HP part # L17365-005.

This card works with only one antenna.

The only place I have been able to find this model is on eBay.

https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_nkw=L17365-005&_sacat=0&_sop=15

The Realtek 8821CE wifi card will have a maximum throughput of 433 MBPS on the 5.0 GHz wifi band with an AC router.

Here is the link to the service manual, where you can find the wifi card removal and replacement procedure...

Hello,

I've waited untill i had received the card and installed it to answer. I would like to thank you for the suggestion. The card works, perfectly, it was cheap to buy(i live in Greece and i use the Ebay uk page which had some cheap ones for sale) and does the job i want it to do(5Ghz wifi and utilize all of the available network speed). Also the user manual was quite helpful because i located the screws under the rubber feet which i didn't know about.

Kind regards,

George
