Replace wlan adapter to 5GHz - 15-b080sb

15-b080sb
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi

In this laptop is a wlan adapter with a single band. I would like to change this to a dual band so I can connect to a 5 GHz network. here: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c03733729 I only found single band wlan adapters that were compatible. Can someone name a dual band wlan admater that is compatible with this laptop?

The laptop is: 15-b080sb

Thanks

Hi:

I can't find any specs on that model.

What model processor does it have?

Full processor model, please...such as Intel Core i3-3227U, for example.

Hi:

Provided your notebook has two antenna cables connected to the wifi card in there now, you can upgrade to this card...

Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260 802.11 ac 2x2 WiFi + BT 4.0    HP Part # 710661-001

The card is readily available on eBay or Amazon, and doesn't cost much at all.

Do your search by the HP part number, not by the model number of the wireless card.

Below is the link to the service manual for your notebook.

The wifi card R & R procedure can be found in chapter 4.
