Hi, I want to replace my single band nettwork card with dual band card. My laptop is HP Notebook - 14-ck0806no. What card will fit?

I think yes this card (the 802.11ac) would be a bit better performing even in the 2.4 ghz band but there is just so much you can do with a single antenna setup. Your best option I hate to say is a usb 802.11ac module. They are cheap and obviously easy to install and the reception is close to an internal module with 2 antennae.

Unfortunately if you look at page 3 of the Service Manual here:

Manual

your laptop has a single antenna which makes upgrading to a dual band card very difficult to do. However, one option offered by HP is actually a single antenna 802.11ac module. It's this one:

Realtek RTL8821CE 802.11 ac 1×1 WiFi + Bluetooth 4.2 Combo Adapter (MU-MIMO supported) L17365-005

Pages 30-40 tell how to do the replacement.

I have not tried this card it is 802.11ac but may not work in the 5 ghz band. Other than this there is no option except a usb dongle or to add an antenna which is a huge job.

Post back with any other questions and please accept as solution if its the info you needed.

thank you very much for finding an alternativ. Ufortunately the seller does not ship to norway and by the look of it, he is the only seller who offer this card on amazon. Maybe I can try ebay or a local store.

The research I did suggests this card is 2.4 ghz band only so if you are looking to operate in the 5 ghz band this may not be the thing for you and this card is very hard to find.

I did find a couple searching by HP Part number on eBay UK:

do you think replacing my excisting 2,4 ghz with a new 2,4ghz card will increase the speed? Right now I just have 112 Mbit pr sec up and down. In my house I have 500Mbit up and down.
