HP Spectre x360 - 13t-aw000 CTO
Microsoft Windows 11

SPECTRE 360 disconnects from home WI-FI every 20-30 minutes.  Already reset/unplugged home router/modum and reset laptop network connection.  Microsoft tried uninstalling network/wi-fi driver for Windows 10 and reinstalling Windows 11 driver, put its not available through HP.   At a loss for what to do next.

Hi @GRID-DOG

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Commendable diagnosis, superb troubleshooting and splendid description of the issue before posting. Hats off to you on that score. 😊

Frequent Wi-Fi disconnections can be frustrating, especially when you've already tried several fixes.

Here are some steps to troubleshoot and resolve the issue with your HP Spectre x360:

1. Update Network Drivers

  • Visit the HP Support website and search for the latest network drivers for your laptop model.
  • If no Windows 11 drivers are available, try installing the Windows 10 driver in compatibility mode:
    • Right-click the driver file, select Properties, go to the Compatibility tab, and choose Windows 10.

2. Adjust Power Management Settings

  • Open Device Manager (press Windows + X and select Device Manager).
  • Expand Network Adapters, right-click your Wi-Fi adapter, and select Properties.
  • Go to the Power Management tab and uncheck Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power.

3. Change Wi-Fi Settings

  • Access your router settings and ensure the following:
    • Use the 2.4 GHz band for better stability (if your router supports dual-band).
    • Set the channel to Auto or a less crowded channel.
  • On your laptop, go to Settings > Network & Internet > Wi-Fi > Manage Known Networks and forget your home network. Reconnect and re-enter the password.

4. Disable Wi-Fi Sense

  • Open Settings > Network & Internet > Wi-Fi.
  • Turn off Wi-Fi Sense or similar features that automatically connect to open networks.

5. Reset Network Settings

  • Open Settings > Network & Internet > Advanced Network Settings > Network Reset.
  • Click Reset Now to restore all network settings to default.

6. Test with Another Network

  • Connect your laptop to a different Wi-Fi network to determine if the issue is specific to your home network.

If this solution hits the spot, please come back and click "Accepted Solution" to help others find the answer. And if you'd like to say thanks, select "Yes" on the bottom left of the public post, as that would make our day! 😊

Take care, and have an amazing day!
