HP ENVY x360 Convertible Laptop PC 15-ed1000 IDS Base Model
Microsoft Windows 11

So after a month or so of trying to convince HP that my machine’s network issues were the result of hardware malfunctions and not software, they finally agreed to send me a box so that they could check it out. A few days after I received the notification that they had the device, I got a call from a person in escalation named Lyn who told me that the technicians could not replicate the issue (the issue is known to be sporadic). She said she would tell the techs to keep trying and we would go from there. This conversation over the phone was April 12th and she told me she would call back on Monday the 15th to give an update. Before she called me on Monday I sent her an email with a suggestion on how to hopefully replicate the issue as well as asking if trading the machine in to put towards a new device would be possible. When she called me, she said that the technicians had not responded yet to her request to keep trying. She did say that she saw my email. Lyn promised to call me the next day, the 16th to give an update. This did not happen and I’ve been waiting to hear anything from anyone. I have emailed Lyn twice asking for an update and I haven’t heard anything. According to the service order status, the laptop is still in the process of being fixed but nothing on that site has changed since last Friday. I’m at my wits end. The warranty just expired and I cannot afford to extend it. This means I don’t have as many ways to easily contact HP to figure out what is happening with my poor PC. Lyn “provided” me with a number and an extension but it never works even though I’m calling during her explicit office hours.
I really don’t know what can be done besides posting in here and hoping someone at HP sees this. Every step of trying to get my computer fixed has been a nightmare and I’ll be hesitant to ever buy another computer from HP because of this. I’m not a computer technician and even I could tell my issue was hardware and not software based on the things I tried to fix it that didn’t work (different kinds of reloads, including the HP cloud recovery one). I updated drivers and bios but nothing kept the issue from returning seemingly at random. One minute I would have WiFi and the next I wouldn’t.
it’s honestly beginning to feel like HP has stolen my machine as they’ve had it over a week now and no progress has been made from what I can see on my end. I need this laptop back! My productivity takes a nosedive if I have to do everything on my phone. I’m trying to get ready for grad school and apply for jobs! I need a laptop or something!

Please wait for few weeks or even few months. They can not do anything after 5 days.

Regards.

Here’s the thing: the expected delivery date for getting my device back is the 22nd, according to HP. Also, did you not read the parts where I was promised updates and never received them? I’ve had HP fix this machine before and it took a week or less once they got it. In what world is it normal to wait months for a simple repair? I was told at the start that 8 business was the amount of time to expect after they received the device before I would get it back. HP received the device on the 9th, so it has been the full 8 business days already and I have had no word for the past 4 or so.
