Spotty bluetooth connection HP ENVY laptop 17

Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have a brand new laptop and am using Bluetooth for the first time after owning the laptop for about a week. The connection is very spotty. I have updated drivers, disconnected, rebooted, reconnected, done audio tests. Suggestions? I don't want to have to return it, but I may because there's also issues with the top of the screen not responding to touch.

What is your HP Envy laptop 17 ? You may need to update its driver.  Please use the following way to find out model/product of your machine

Please do NOT post its Serial number (s/n).
