HP Laptop PC 15-dw4000 (4Z346AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

I have an HP Model 15s-du4019TX , PN 6Q4Y5PA laptop with RTL8822CE wireless adapter.

I had a sound-disrupted laptop Zoom call the other day. I check internet speed. wifi dropped off during speed test but repeat showed 35/7 on Broadband fiber 300/100 connection with 5Ghz wifi. Today my iPad is achieving 270/110 while laptop is still at 70/20 .  I went through all virtual agent suggestions.  BIOS update improved speed to 106/54- and turning bluetooth off achieved 149/95, but still short of iPad speed. I expect HP laptop to equal iPad speed regardless of whether bluetooth is on or off.

Hi:

The only suggestion I can offer would be to update the Wi-Fi driver to the latest version if you have not done so already.

Restart the PC after installing the driver.

Thank you Paul but that was one of the first things I tried. At this stage o  an only assume that Apple IPad had superior wifi technology to HP

You're very welcome.

Yes, I tend to agree with you.

The Realtek RTL8822CE cards are not very good models.

I don't know why HP continues to use these cards in the PC's.

I suspect there may be more to the problem than simply poor hardware. The laptop wifi previously seemed fine.  I suspect that the latest MSWindows 11 update (2023-03, KB5023698, installed 1 April) may be at least part of the problem. It wouldn’t be the first time that their updates have caused problems. This one dumped my printers and may have screwed with the wifi. if an April fools joke, not funny.
