HP Pavilion Notebook 14-v251tx
Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

The only network driver that appears is the "Realtek PCIe FE Family Controller" and that means that I couldn't connect to wifi. I've resetted the pc and it still hasn't fixed the problem. Please give me a link or something to download the wireless adapter.

Hi:

If the wireless adapter needs a driver, there will be a device listed in the device manager under an Other Devices category, labeled as a Network Controller.

If you see such a device please post the hardware ID for it, so I can figure out what driver it needs.

Use this guide for how to find the hardware ID for a device...

How to Find Drivers for Unknown Devices in the Device Manager (howtogeek.com)

If there is no Network Controller device listed in the device manage, then there is a hardware problem of some sort with the wifi adapter.

The first troubleshooting step before replacing the wifi adapter would be to remove and firmly reseat it.

Leave the antenna wires connected so it will be easier to reseat the wifi adapter without having the reattach the antenna wires.

The HP support site isn't working right now, so I can't post the link to the service manual.

There is one labeled "SM Bus Controller" and one labeled "Unknown Device" and the hardware id is ACPI\VEN_HPQ&DEV_6007. There is no other device named "Network Controller" at all.

Hi:

You will need to begin the wifi hardware troubleshooting process as I described the other day, because there is a hardware issue with the wifi adapter.

Below are the links to the drivers you need for the other two devices...

Smbus controller:

This package contains the Intel Chipset Installation Utility and Driver for supported notebook models and operating systems. This utility enables the operating system to show the correct name for the installed Intel hardware in the Microsoft Windows Device Manager.

ACPI\VEN_HPQ&DEV_6007:

This package provides the HP 3D DriveGuard Software for supported notebook models that are running a supported operating system. The HP 3D DriveGuard Software protects the hard drive by parking the heads if the notebook is accidentally dropped, or is abruptly impacted by another object.
