Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi,

I've been using Officejet Pro 8610 for a long time. The typical problem that connection over wifi to two Mac and one Windows laptops stops. Even though the IP address on the printer is right and I can ping it from my windows laptop. but sending any thing to the printer for printing stays in the labtop buffer waiting the printer's response. But it won't happen, the only way around it, is cycle power the printer and then printing over wifi works for a while and stops again.

Thanks

Alex

@Bahoor, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Restart the wireless router, the printer, and the PC

  • Make sure the printer and the PC are connected to the same wireless network.
  • This printer supports only 2.4GHz network. So, the PC should be on the 2.4GHz network.
  • If you have a Dual-band router and both 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks share the same name/SSID, the printer will not be able to connect to the network. In this case, contact your Internet service provider to assign different names to both the networks.

Run HP Print and Scan Doctor to diagnose and fix any driver/network issue

Click here to download the file. Once downloaded, make sure to run the file to start the installation and click on 'Fix printing'.

If the issue persists, we will have to assign a static IP address to the printer.

Let me know how this goes.

The printer and laptop are in one WiFi SSID which is my private network. I see the printer's IP address on the printer screen and I can ping it from the laptop. But the laptop says the printer is off line.
