Can I connect a usb-c to ethernet adaptor to a HP Spectre x360 - 13-ae052nr?

Yes. I was using the following adapter

 

           https://www.startech.com/en-au/cards-adapters/hb30c3a1gea

 

and get 3 more USB 3.0 ports. I'm using a dock now to connect to 2 more monitors.
