Unable to connect my smartphone with laptop

HP Notebook
Microsoft Windows XP (64-bit)

I'm unable to Unable to connect my smartphone with laptop with WiFi for the purpose of using internet. It shows the device as connected too but net doesn't work. I did try troubleshooting but it wasn't of much help. It's not the case when I connect it with a broadband or my dongle ( the net works well). Please help?

As I understand you are unable to connect your smartphone with the laptop wireless. Don't worry as I have a few suggestions which should help to resolve this concern,

 

Note: This is to inform that there's no support for Microsoft Windows XP anymore and we can provide limited assistance. 

 

To provide you with an accurate solution, I'll need a few more details:

 

What is the product number of this computer? (Ensure you do not share any of your personal information such as serial, phone number, email ID, etc...).

When was the last time it worked (date)?

How are you connecting your smartphone to your laptop? Is it through USB connection or Wireless?

If it's connected through USB connection, have you installed the drivers for your smartphone.

Have you made any changes on the PC before the issue started (Software or Hardware)?

 

Let's start by uninstalling the Wi-Fi drivers from Device Manager and then install it from our HP support website.

 

Could you elaborate more on the issue as this will help me in further assisting you
