Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

The network adapter is realtek RTL8723BE 801.11

The wifi list only shows up the 2.4 GHz signal. Is this a setting issue or a single band adapter ? pls advise.

The specs of your machine is

           https://support.hp.com/au-en/document/c05411418

It only has   802.11b/g/n (1x1) and Bluetooth® 4.0 combo (Miracast compatible); WiDi  which does not support 5.0GHz. You have 2 options

(a) Allow your router to broadcast dual bands. You machine will see 2.4GHz network and you can connect

(b) Replace existing wifi adaper with one of the following adapters  (you may lost Widi function)

           ● Realtek RTL8822CE 802.11ac 2 × 2 Wi-Fi + Bluetooth® 5.0 (MU-MIMO supported)

           ● Realtek RTL8821CE 802.11ac 1 × 1 Wi-Fi + Bluetooth 4.2 (MU-MIMO supported)

Regards.
