Hi:

The parts list for your notebook indicates that it comes with a Broadcom BCM43142 802.11 b/g/n 1x1 Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0 M.2 combination WLAN adapter

https://partsurfer.hp.com/Search.aspx?searchText=M9V70PA

The Broadcom BCM43142 802.11 bgn Wi-Fi M.2  wifi adapter was designed to only work on the 2.4 GHz wifi band.

5.0 GHz connectivity is not supported by that model wifi adapter.
