HP Pavilion 17g 108na
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Can I upgrade the WIFI/Network on my HP Pavilion 17g 108na to 802.11ac? If so do we know which one?

Updating Network Access

Hi:

Your notebook only has one antenna connected to the wifi card in there now.

The only AC wifi card that is a direct swap for your current wifi adapter is this one...Works with one antenna...

Realtek RTL8821CE 802.11 ac 1x1 WiFi + Bluetooth 4.2 Combo Adapter (MU-MIMO supported)   HP part # L17365-005

The card has been on back order for months from HP, but you can buy one of them on eBay.

https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_nkw=L17365-005&_sacat=0&_sop=15

The card will have the same speed on the 2.4 GHz wifi band as the one you have now, but it will have a maximum throughput of 433 MBPS with an AC router on the 5.0 GHz wifi band.

Now if you don't care about the bluetooth not working, then you can get the Intel 7265 wifi card listed in your notebook's service manual.  That card needs two antenna cables in order for the bluetooth to work.

You would connect the single antenna cable to the wifi card's Main or #1 terminal.

I was really pleased with your answer, thank you. I'll invest in the hardware mentioned and hopefully increase the speed of the laptop on the network.
