Pavillion dv6-6117dx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Is there a compatible (faster) upgrade for the Railink rt5390 card? Hopefully dual channel, 802.11ac?

Someone suggested the Intel AC 8265 but the connectors look different. The Intel AC 7260 looks more like a match.

Pavillion dv6-6117dx, Windows 10

Thanks in advance!

Your machine was built around March 2011, due to the whitelist, the chance to upgrade to a newer wifi card is very slim to none. You can only use a list on page 67 of the following manual

          http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c02842252.pdf

Option

             https://www.pcgamer.com/au/best-usb-wi-fi-adapter/

Early March 2020, for testing, I bought the following wifi card for my 11 years old machine

            https://www.scorptec.com.au/product/Networking/Adapters/60514-7265.NGWWB.W

Unfortunately my machine uses different format, not M.2, physically won't fit therefore I went to the shop and swap to the following one (I did not have to pay more, they are same price):

          https://www.scorptec.com.au/product/Networking/Adapters/67965-USB-AC53-NANO

And it works perfectly, get same result (download speed) with the 1G wired on same machine (my network bundle)

Regards.
