Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi,

I am trying to find the appropriate antennas for the switch from single to dual antennas on my 17-x114dx.  Please help.  All available options for sale on the net seem woefully short.  If there is an exact fitment from HP please advise the part#.  Thanks!

Hi:

Instead of going through all of the trouble to completely disassemble the entire notebook including the display panel area, you can simply replace the RTL8188EE wifi card your PC has with this one, which works with the single antenna wire...

Realtek RTL8821CE 802.11 ac 1x1 WiFi + Bluetooth 4.2 Combo Adapter (MU-MIMO supported) HP part # L17365-005.

You can find this model on eBay, or Ali Express,

https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_nkw=L17365-005&_sacat=0&_sop=15

The card will have the same 72 MBPS throughput as the original wifi card on the 2.4 GHz wifi band, but on the 5.0 GHz wifi band, it will have a max throughput of 433 MBPS when you have an AC router with an excellent wifi signal strength.

Below is the link to the service manual, where you can find the wifi card removal and replacement procedure.

If you want to add a second antenna and use a different wifi card, the antenna kit with the part number can be found in chapter 3, page 25.

(6) Antennas   856611-001

You can buy this kit directly from the HP parts store...$34.39.

Paul_Tikkanen,  I did see 856611-001 on HP but no description.  Is it two antennas, or just an additional one?.

Unfortunately, that I do not know.

The description on the parts store website just indicates...ASSY, ANTENNA
