Hi, I am looking to upgrade my network card in my laptop. I need it because 5htz wifi is significantly faster than my 2.4htz wifi. Can some help me with choosing a good network card that's compatible with my laptop? Because I think I found one but I am not sure if it will work.

Thanks in Advance.

You have 1 antenna. You have to use a single band 2.4 ghz card or add an antenna or use a usb wireless dongle.

By having only a single wifi antenna HP effectively prevents significant upgrades. Sorry. Adding an antenna is major laptop surgery sorry to say.

Here's the Manual and here's the problem:

Manual

See p. 3. The Realtek adapters have a single antenna and the Intel adapters have 2 antennae.

The Intel card you ask about is a 2 x 2 card. It needs 2 antennae. If you only have 1 antenna strung inside the laptop you can install the 2 x 2 card but it will perform no better than what you have.

So can you check the device manager and see if you have a Realtek card? If so we need to have a difficult discussion.

Thanks for the reply. I do have a Realtek card. This is it: http://www.realtek.com/products/productsView.aspx?Langid=1&PNid=21&PFid=59&Level=5&Conn=4&ProdID=377

So it means I can only have 2.4htz or 5 htz? Not both right? What are my options?
