Hi @FelixRalte,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It looks like you are experiencing multiple issues with your laptop, including Wi-Fi connectivity problems and having to choose between two Windows options during startup. Here are steps you can take to address these issues:
1. Fixing the Missing Wi-Fi Issue:
Check Wi-Fi Enable/Disable Key: Ensure that the Wi-Fi is turned on. Some laptops have a function key (like F12) or a physical switch to toggle Wi-Fi on and off.
Airplane Mode: Make sure that Airplane Mode is turned off. You can check this in the settings under "Network & Internet."
Network Adapter Settings:
- Press Windows + X and select "Device Manager."
- Expand the "Network adapters" section.
- Right-click on your wireless adapter and select "Enable" if it's disabled.
- If it's already enabled, try selecting "Update driver" to ensure you have the latest drivers.
Network Troubleshooter:
- Go to "Settings" > "Update & Security" > "Troubleshoot."
- Select "Internet Connections" and run the troubleshooter.
Driver Reinstallation: If updating doesn't work, try uninstalling the driver and then restart your laptop to let Windows reinstall it automatically.
2. Resolving Multiple Windows Boot Options:
System Configuration:
- Press Windows + R, type msconfig, and press Enter.
- Go to the "Boot" tab.
- Remove any unnecessary Windows entry by selecting it and clicking "Delete." Be careful not to remove the current working OS entry.
Check Boot Settings: Ensure the default OS is set to the Windows installation you prefer to use. This might help in booting directly without choosing each time.
If these suggestions do not resolve your issues, consider performing a system restore to revert your system settings to a stable point. You can access system restore via "Control Panel" > "Recovery" > "Open System Restore". Make sure to back up any important data before proceeding.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a blissful day 😇.
