SIM card alone won't work. You also need a WWAN card. Did you buy this option specially for your country ?
WWAN module is optional and requires separately purchased service contract. Check with service provider for coverage and availability in your area. Connection speeds will vary due to location, environment, network conditions, and other factors. 4G LTE not available on all products, in all regions.
Please also check your provider first.
Last year, one of my loan device (which came from the US) had WWAN, SIM slot and even a Vodafone SIM card on it (free calls in the US). But the whole things did not work in my country: I removed the SIM card and put mine in, it did not work.
I had to donate that device after one year but kept the SIM card just for my test. May 2017, I went to the US with that SIM card and my phone but it did not work.
Regards.
