@GhostGh,

Thank you for visiting the HP Forums! A great place where you can find solutions for your issues with help from the community! I came across your post and wanted to assist you. I understand you are looking to upgrade the wireless card on your HP Notebook. It’ll be a genuine pleasure to assist you with this.

I did go through the  Maintenance and Service guide and it shows the list of compatible Wireless card which are supported and tested on your PC,

It looks like only this card has been tested with the computer and dual band wireless cards have not been tested by HP. There is no white list as of now for this specific computer.

  • You could consult a local Best Buy or Staples technician or any local tech to check if the dual band wireless card is supported by the computer. It should be supported although it has not been tested by HP.
  • The best option at your disposal is to go for a USB dual band wireless adapter and that is economical and cost effective. It does the trick for you and can be purchased online or locally for a song.
  • Please check this link: http://hp.care/2vbqL8n  which has been marked as an accepted solution by another customer.
  • It has another link which gives you information on how dual-band cards work and how to identify them which has been authored by a reputed forum expert and has also been accepted as a solution.
  • I have been honest about it by keeping your best interest in mind.

I hope this information helps. Let me know if you need any further assistance.

Let me know if those steps worked for you.

If they did, that’s awesome!

Give us some reinforcement by clicking the solution and kudos buttons,

That’ll help us and others see that we’ve got the answers!

Good Luck.
