I have a  HP TouchSmart tm2-2150us Notebook PC, im having issues with wifi card seems that the card is getting slow and i need to upgrade to keep up with the new technology, but i read somewhere that you just can put any wifi card with hp systems, anyone know what would be a a compatible wifi card for replacement of what HP techs recommends for an  HP TouchSmart tm2-2150us Notebook PC

You are correct.  HP has a BIOS whitelist in that model series which prevents the installation of any model wifi card that is not listed in the service manual, and it must have the HP part number on it or it will not work.

I'm looking at the list of supported wifi cards, and none of them would be better than what you have in there now.

 

Some of them probably wouldn't even work on W10 at all.

 

So, if the wifi card is not working right, and you want to continue to use the notebook, you will have to get an external dual band USB wifi adapter.

 

They make some models (nano adapters) that hardly stick out of the USB port nowadays.
