Notebook 14_cf0000no
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Dear Sirs/Community, I have also a problem with connecting to my home 5G-WLAN with my Notebook 14-cf0000no. Here are some of the specs. if they are relevant: Intel Core i5-8250U, 10/100/1000 Ethernet, WiFi 802.11b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2. Any chance of upgrading to a 5hz connection? Best Regards, JM

Hi:

According to chapter 3 of the service manual, it looks like you can replace the card you have now with the Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 9461 802.11 AC 1×1 WiFi + Bluetooth 5 Combo Adapter (non-vPro) (MU-MIMO supported)    HP part # L25889-005

Do your search by the HP part number, not the model of the wifi card.

That card is designed to work with only one antenna cable.

You may be able to order the card directly from HP, but you may find it cheaper elsewhere, such as on eBay.

You're very welcome.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend too, and please post back and let us know how your wifi upgrade project went.

Hi, on second thought: will I lose connection to the 2,4GHz WLAN devices with the new component? (if the dual band in the name of the component means bluetooth+1 frequency wifi or two frequencys plus the bluetooth).

I am rather having regrets with the laptop the I bought only yesterday. And I am sorry to bother you again. Hope the connection will eventually be OK.

You're very welcome.

As far as I know, all AC wifi cards are designed to work on the 2.4 GHz wifi band, but at a lower connection speed.

The Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 9461 802.11 AC 1×1 WiFi + Bluetooth 5 Combo Adapter is no different than the others.

Here are the technical specifications for the card...
