I am experiencing issues with the WWAN functionality on my HP EliteBook 830 G6. Despite the presence of a SIM card slot, the system does not recognize the WWAN module. Here are the steps I’ve taken so far:
1. Driver Installation: Downloaded and installed the appropriate WWAN drivers from the HP support website. However, the device does not appear in the Device Manager under Network Adapters.
2. Device Manager: Checked for any unrecognized devices or hardware changes, but there were no indications of a WWAN module.

I came across information suggesting that while the EliteBook 830 G6 includes a SIM card slot, many units might not have the necessary WWAN adapter installed.

Could someone please confirm if all EliteBook 830 G6 models come with a pre-installed WWAN module? If not, what would be the recommended steps to enable WWAN functionality on this device?

True -

If the Device Manager lacks an entry for the WWAN module, the WWAN is not present in the hardware.

Both SIM / eSIM and the WWAN module are required.

Hardly any Elitebooks come with WWAN adapters.

Maybe one in ten.

It is an expensive option.

You will need to purchase and install one of the supported WWAN adapters listed in chapter 3 of your notebook's service manual.

Before purchasing a WWAN adapter make sure the antenna wires are present where the WWAN card gets installed.
