Whitelist of Wi-Fi module in HP ENVY 4-1152er

Hello!
I want to replace the Wi-Fi module on my laptop. Now it supports only 2 GHz, but I want to upgrade it to dual band  wifi card: 2 GHz / 5 GHz.
What wifi modules can I install? Is there a white list on my laptop?

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.

After reading your post, I did go through the Product specifications of your product and found that you have Intel 802.11 b/g/n with Widi; Bluetooth installed on the PC.

If your adapter supports 802.11a, it will definitely support 5GHz. The same goes for 802.11ac.

But the problem is different. Some HP laptops have a restriction on installing Wi-Fi modules. This restriction is called "whitelist". And I would like to know, if possible:

 - does my laptop have a whitelist restriction?

 - if laptop  have a restriction, then what brand and model can I insert a Wi-Fi module with 5GHz support?

Thank you for posting back. 

To get the answer to this question,  If your adapter supports 802.11a, it will definitely support 5GHz. you could change the configuration at your own discretion.

As they are not tested by HP and may not be accurate.
