Hi,
I have replaced my motherboard in my laptop due to a faulty motherboard, I used to have HP15S-FQ motherboard but swapped out for HP15S-EQ type board.
I have swapped everything over and all seems to work except the wifi card?
Any ideas why this would be
Thanks

Doesn't the 15s-fq model series have Intel processors and the 15s-eq model series have AMD processors?
If so if your notebook originally came with an Intel Wi-Fi adapter, those don't normally work in notebooks with AMD processors.
The only Intel card that normally has any chance of working in an AMD notebook is this one:
Intel Wi-Fi 6 AX200 ax 2×2 + Bluetooth 5.0 MU-MIMO M.2 2230 non-vPro HP part # L35282-005.
In any event, the BIOS of your notebook's motherboard has disabled the Wi-Fi card because it was not a model supported in whatever model 15s-eq motherboard you installed.
You will need to install a Wi-Fi adapter that is supported by your notebook's motherboard and in order to help you with that, I would need specific information about the motherboard you installed (processor model), product number that is now reported in the Windows system information app (on the system SKU line).

Hi Paul,
Thanks for your reply,
This sounds like it might be the issue then, any suggestions for getting one?
The motherboard is
HP laptop 15s-eq2xxx
System SKU- 4J6H1EA#ABU
AMD Ryzen 7 5700U
The faulty motherboard was from HP Laptop 15s-fq5023na
I have noticed that the web cam on the laptop is not working as well l... would you have any ideas on why this is not working?
it feels red hot when you touch it?

You're very welcome, Lee.
Both models came with a Realtek RTL8821CE Wi-Fi adapter which only needs one antenna wire in order to work.
The part number for the Realtek card your current motherboard uses, according to the parts list is:
| M09870-005 | WLAN Realtek COCO ac 1x1 |
The part number for the Realtek card for the motherboard you removed is:
| M09870-005 | WLAN Realtek COCO ac 1x1 |
So, that isn't the problem as both motherboards support the exact same model card/part number.
Given that information, I have absolutely no idea why the same model Wi-Fi card isn't working in the 15-fq2xxx motherboard.
I was sure that was the issue--different model Wi-Fi cards used.
As far as the webcam not working, unfortunately, I wouldn't know how to get that working either.
Sorry, that I couldn't help you with either of the problems you have with your notebook.
Regards,
Paul
